Wrapagami
The Art of Fabric Gift Wraps
By Jennifer Playford, founder of Furochic Photographs by David Hughes/Hotfoot Studio Illustrations by Nancy Leonard
7 x 8, 128 pages, 4C, paperback
with flaps
Wrapagami is an ingenious and beautiful
method of wrapping gifts in fabric that
anyone can do. Traditional paper gift
wrap is not at all earth-friendly. Wrapagami
is a gorgeous, green alternative,
requiring nothing more than a square
of fabric. Wrapagami derives from an
ancient Japanese tradition called tsutsumi,
and can be applied to objects of any
shape or size. These simple wraps make
for a unique and lovely way to present
gifts, with the truly thoughtful bonus of
being re-usable by the giftee.
Award-winning designer Jennifer Playford
presents more than 20 wraps, each
one explained with clear instructions
accompanied by easy-to-follow diagrams,
with a lovely color photograph showing
the finished product.
Jennifer Playford is an illustrator, the
creator of online retailer Jenny Wren
Paperie, and the inventor of the award-winning
Furochic line of wraps (a
finalist of the Best New Product Awards
at the National Stationery Show in May
2007). Jennifer lives by the beach in
Victoria, BC, with her husband and two
children. To learn more, visit her website:
